How often have you woke up in the morning, knowing that you have ONE important thing that needs to get done today. Only to find yourself scrambling around close to midnight, still not having finished what you needed to get done the most for the day?

How does this happen? You feel like you were busy all day, getting stuff done, but when it came to getting that most important task done, you just didn’t have time to get around to it!

This is one of the most dangerous forms of procrastination. Your mind tricks you into doing all these secondary, less important tasks, so that you think you are still being busy and getting stuff done. But there is a difference between being busy and being productive.

The first thing you need to do in the day is the biggest, most important, most energy consuming task of the day.

You have the most energy, and mental focus in the morning. Before your mind has been cluttered up with everything going on around you and been pulled in a thousand different directions. As the day goes on your ability to mentally focus and stay on task slowly decreases. And your subconscious mind will keep tricking you into procrastinating by doing these less important tasks until you take control and do something about it!

See, the purpose of the mind is to keep you “safe”. To keep you from changing. It wants everything to stay the same and it doesn’t want you to risk putting yourself out there. And one of the ways it does this is to keep you from taking action towards things that are going to move you forward in life.

Procrastination fuels negativity. When you procrastinate you are sending out mixed signals to the Universe, and even to your own subconscious mind. With your words you are saying “Yes, I want to move forward, to reach my goals, take my life to the next level.” But with your actions you are saying “I like it where I am right now, I’m afraid of change, I don’t want anything to be different.”
